Barbara Fishman was born & raised in Philadelphia. She began pursuing her interest in art at Temple's Tyler School of Art. After moving to central Pennsylvania in 1968, she studied with several prominent area artists including Bruce Johnson of Annville, Nick Ruggieri of New Cumberland, & Charles (Li) Hidley of Harrisburg. Barbara works mainly in oils & watercolors and invites the viewer to explore the images in her abstract expressionistic paintings, interpreting them based on their own feelings. William Ris Gallery of Camp Hill, Whitaker Center for the Arts in Harrisburg, and the Lancaster Museum, are among the many places she has exhibited. Some of her work has been selected for the permanent collection at Temple University & Elizabethtown College. Barbara is a graduate of the Pennsylvania School of Art & Design. Her paintings are on exhibit year round at the Mt. Gretna Art Gallery and at her "Studio in the Woods" next to her home. To see more of her work, please call for an appointment. Contact information
